Wake Me Up Eggs!

So today as we get closer to the end of this year, I believe it is time to start preparing for the New Year.  If we make a resolution on Jan 1st and then it takes some days or weeks to get going, then we are wasting “New Year Time”!  So start planning NOW to get  your Mila and start using it!!!

This morning I decided to have my famous scrambled omelette…and of course add some Mila and Vavoom!

Wake Me Up Eggs

(named for the fact that sauteeing peppers and onions in the morning REALLY gets your system going!  The smell is enough to make anyone’s mouth water!!!  )

Ingredients

Olive Oil (enough to just cover the bottom of the pan.

Onion (I like Vidalia but any will do!)

Peppers ( red, green, orange, yellow–whichever one you have or like but I really like to mix them up and make a very colorful breakfast!)

—other options–little slivers of salami, ham, pancetta, bacon etc.—or just leave it vegetarian)

Cheese-can be shredded mozzarella, cheddar or whatever kind or mix you like.

Mila

Eggs….depending on how many people you are cooking for bur for a single serving I use 2 or 3 or 1 whole and 2 or 3 whites…it’s up to you…

So…begin by sauteeing your peppers, onions and meat if you are using any.

While the veggies are cooking, beat your eggs, add a splash of milk if you like, a dash of  salt and pepper (fresh ground if you have it!) and mix in 1/2 scoop of Mila.

Once the onions and peppers are soft and the meat on the way to being crispy (that’s how I like it anyway!) add in the eggs and mix them around so that all the goodies are spread out in the eggs.  Once they are almost cooked, sprinkle a little handful of cheese on top, fold it in and finish cooking.

Serve with a slice of wheat toast and juice or coffee and you have the first half of your mila in your system for the day and in a tasty breakfast to boot!

Enjoy!

OK…there are many ways that I am finding to incorporate Mila into everyday foods and recipes but there are some quick ways that I often have it when I want it quickly or am not making something that I can mix it in.

So…the obvious is in a smoothie which a lot of people like, but not everyone has the right kind of blender like I do.  I will begin listing those recipe ideas for you as we go along, but today the very first recipe I am giving you is for what I call my Quickie Mila “Pudding”.

Take 1/2 to 1 cup of Milk

Quickie Mila “Pudding”

1 whole scoop of Mila

1 or 2 drops of Vanilla

1 good shake of Cinnamon

1 tsp or ( 1 good squeeze!) of honey

Now just stir it up and let it sit for a few minutes.

The longer you let it sit the thicker it becomes and the less milk you use the thicker it is also.  Sometimes I make it thinner because I am more in the mood to drink it and other times I make it thicker.  Mila gets thick when wet…so it gives it a pudding like consistency-just a little gritty!  LOL!

The smell is of vanilla pudding, the taste is too…it is more textured and it is definitely ugly…but I think it tastes really good.

Variations

Use Almond Milk

Use almond extract instead of vanilla

add some cocoa or chocolate syrup instead of cinnamon and make it chocolatey!

Try it my way, make your own variation and if you find something else good…please let me know!!!

Thanks!
